Sensitivity and Censorship: Suck my goat-ass


Censorship has gone a little too far for my liking. See, it goes like this: I happen to like pornography, dirty language and blood and violence in my entertainment. I also happen to enjoy raunchy jokes, nasty video games and “taboo” subjects. Unfortunately our country is being run by a bunch of overly sensitive and anal-retentive assholes that can’t take a joke. Instead of just not watching the “Offending things” themselves, they feel they have to BAN it so other adults (Such as myself and my husband) cannot view them either. This gets my panties in a bunch!

For example, I have just learned of several games that I’d like to play, but they aren’t allowed in the US. I also have heard of some movie scenes being cut because it’s just too raunchy for those sensitive Americans. I’m completely embarrassed that my country is being viewed as sensitive and unable to handle these things. If I see something on TV I don’t like, I TURN IT OFF… I don’t call the station and demand it be taken off the air, and I don’t claim “What if the KIDS see it?!” because it is MY job as the parent to police what my kids watch.

Ok lets take these commercials for example:

Two guys are reading over some graphs and such for a TV station, and in the background we see a poster of a Klingon warrior woman. One guy nods towards the picture and asks, “So, would you?” Implying “Would you fuck her?” and the other guy does a double take etc the commercial ends blah blah… completely devoid of ANY sexual WORDS or images… just the implication of a sexual act… not even any sexual gestures! But these freaking bible-thumpers I used to chat with on a certain message board had a HISSY FIT over it! They were all up in arms saying how inappropriate it was and how it shouldn’t be on TV and it was offensive and degrading to women… Ahem! I’d like to point out I AM a woman and I wasn’t offended… I think it had to do with insecurity, these women knew that they were no match for a fictional warrior woman. I mean who COULD be a match… she was HOT! Did you catch the sarcasm here?

The other commercial these women had a HUGE problem with was for a shampoo called “Herbal Essences” which happens to be a mighty fine product. In the commercial you see a woman in the shower washing her hair talking about her new shampoo and how great it is and it’s all natural and organic… then she starts going into wild convulsions and screaming “YES YES YES!” like she is having an orgasm, and it says “Herbal Essences, a totally organic experience”.  So little Miss Bible-Thumper starts a riot over this thing saying it is SO inappropriate she has written the company and complained about the commercials and wants them off the air and would we all please go and sign a petition to get them removed. My mother side comes out on this one and I have to say, it IS a pretty steamy commercial simply for the NOISE factor. This woman can SCREAM! Anyway, I don’t think it should be played at normal kid viewing times (You know during Saturday morning cartoons and stuff) but for the prime-time and the adult viewing hours and grown-up stations there is NO problem with it. Well of course these women now think I am immoral because I don’t agree with them… they can suck my goat-ass.

Then we have a commercial for 7Up: The  spokesman hands out cans of 7UP to prisoners. When he accidentally drops a can, he jokes saying he won’t pick it up, implying that he might get ass-raped if he to bends down to get it. At the end of the commercial the cell door slams, trapping him with a prisoner who has his arm around the spokesman.

Now THAT was a funny commercial. Again we have a “public” outcry of how terrible this commercial is…. And guess what? It’s an outcry mostly from prisoners and people who want to PROTECT PRISONERS … HELLO dumbfucks… these are prisoners who have raped, murdered and tortured innocent people . If I want to joke about prisoners getting ass-raped then I WILL joke about them getting ass-raped. Since when do these sick fucks have more rights than I do? Since when is it ok for those inbred perverts to tell ME what I can see on tv? Why the hell are they even ALLOWED to watch tv in the first place? They should be living in tents in the middle of Antarctica, but that’s a whole other rant. It hurts their feelings, it bothers them and it makes light of a bad situation in JAIL. OK well if you don’t like what goes on in jail, then don’t do bad shit… don’t break the law! Anyway, my point here is that I think it’s a load of mega-crap that we as a society have to take a commercial off the air because it hurts the prisoners’ feelings.

I go back to my original thoughts now after my bit of rambling…. I don’t like being told I cannot see things that offend OTHER people. I don’t like being told that I can’t play games that might bother other folks… I DON’T like being told that a show or a movie or a game has scenes that are too graphic for me. I’m a grown woman; I can make my own damn choices thank you very much. And the thing that bugs me the most is that these groups that are against all these movies and games and such are RELIGIOUS! I have nothing against religions…. Only when those involved in them try and force their values and ideas onto me and my life… So when Bible-Thumper Joan tells me I can’t watch a movie that depicts some extremely violent actions, I just want to shove that bible right up her ass, that should show her the meaning of violence. It’s so easy… she can just turn it off, don’t rent that movie, lock her kids in the basement and never let them see that stuff…. But don’t tell ME I can’t watch it!
