In early 2000 Blysster.com was born as a place to discuss hot-button topics without fear of censorship or being attacked for having a politically incorrect opinion. We encouraged debates and discussions with one simple rule: RESPECT OTHERS' OPINIONS! You don't have to agree, but you DO have to respect their right to express that opinion.

Through the years Blysster grew into more than just a little blip on the Internet's vast screen. We grew to have hundreds of users and thousands of posts. We grew into not just an internet community but real, true friends, complete with ups and downs and face-slapping good times! Even after a hacker attack in 2008 wiped out 8 years of posts and user data, Blysster pulled together to rebuild itself. You don't find that kind of dedication and loyalty in many places these days.

In 2010, after years of hosting and ePublishing rants, raves, tirades, reviews, and stories, Blysster.com evolved into Blysster Press--a new kind of publisher for a new kind of world.

Blysster Press publishes the stuff that traditional and big house publishers are too chickenshit to publish. We support, encourage, and guide our authors and artists through every aspect of the publishing process, letting them have as big a hand in the production of their book as they choose.

We are NOT a "self-publisher" scam or vanity press sucking thousands of dollars from hopeful authors and never turning anyone away. We won't publish just any old thing. If you want to be published under Blysster's name you will have to submit your manuscript for evaluation. But that's where the similarities to traditional publishing end.

Blysster Press won't take your profit. We won't take your glory. We won't trap you in contracts or squish you under our thumbs, and we WON'T control what your books say or do!

What we are is the wave of the future for those who don't want the massive work of true self-publishing (not to be confused with vanity presses) but don't want to be slaves to the big, impersonal publishing houses either. You, the author or artist, are in complete control at Blysster Press.

It's your book, YOU KEEP THE PROFIT and the glory and the fame. We just help you get it into the grubby little palms of your fans.

**So, why "Blysster" and how the hell is that pronounced? Blister, as in burned and blistered. And Blysster is the name of our founder's mascot--a tiger (and sometimes wolf) from the game series Black and White. He was named for his penchant for burning villagers to a crisp and then healing them just so he could burn them again. Yeah, it's twisted and wrong if you lack a sense of humor, but that pretty much sums up Blysster.com and Blysster Press!
