Have you ever come across a song that is outside of the genre that you normally listen to or a genre that you just can't stand, that you fall in love with?
For instance if you normally listen to Rock but find a country song that you are head over heels over.
If so what song?
For me it was when Opty introduced me to Type O Negative and the wondrous Love You To Death. I don't much care for anything else they sing, but I'm stuck on that song.
I normally listen to Country and 80's including the 80's Metal and some Rock.

Glad I could help open your eyes to something new :hearthrob:
For me, it's Garth Brooks song *insert deafening gasp here* Yeah, I know. I usually listen to metal, hard rock, goth, that kind of thing, but there is one Garth Brooks song that sticks with me. Ireland. It's beautiful! And doesn't sound like country music =D

That is one of his songs that I had never heard until moments ago. I downloaded it and I have say that yes it's a fantastic song and it doesn't sound like country.
yes actually this occured just this weekend, i hate rap, but there is a song called Paper Plates by M.I.A. that i've fallen in love with, maybe it's just the fact that it's a female russian singer and the sound of guns throug-out the song that does it for me :malelovies:

Yeah, Kid Rock's Summer something or other (I can't remember the name...it starts out like werewolves of london). I hate country. But I like that song. I was shocked when I heard it was a cross genre song.

Yes I do run across music that is definitely outside my comfortable genre range but yet in some morose and unusual way appeals to me ... such as:

And no ... I'm not related to any of the people in this music video that I am aware of.
