WHAT THE FUCK? It's not like the chicken pox, you assfaces!
I can't really imagine why someone would do this. My mom did this to me over the Chicken pox when I was a kid because she didn't want me getting it when I was older. I think I was exposed nearly 20 times until a doctor finally told her he thought I was naturally immune. Never did get them. But seriously the flu? I would never wish the flu on my kids or any kids for that matter. So rough on the body.

The chicken pox is better to catch when you're young, so I can understand the desire to throw a chicken pox party. Very rarely it is deadly to the younger crowd.
This flu, however, IS deadly to the younger set, and parents are being stupid enough to purposefully expose their kids???????? Fucking rediculous. I think they should be arrested for child endangerment. That is exposing your kids to a harmful substance/thing with the INTENTION of causing harm. Purposefully making your child sick???????

I was talking to my husband about this. I told him that I thought it was child neglect and abuse. For Christ SAKE people!
The H1N1 virus is different than the "normal" yearly flu in the sense that this particular strain actually targets the young people under 25 years of age. My God, there have been so many deaths reported in this age bracket.
On another note, I am completely guilty of willingly exposing both of my youngest, Katherine (now 16) and Daniel (now 14 1/2) to Chicken Pox about a dozen times. They NEVER got the damn pox. Talk about frustrating. I didn't have them until I was 16 years old along with mono and strep. I remember being so freakin sick.
Back to the topic. I wonder if the parents that throw these parties also do not immunize their children. Just a thought. Now I actually choose which vaccinations I want my kids to have. Most of them are OK with me. I still question some of them. As for the vaccine for the H1N1 flu...Katherine, Daniel, and I will be getting the vaccine. I honestly don't have a choice with my lungs. I'm just too much at risk for complications.
FUCK, I really hate stupid people. I don't get along with many people and that's one of the reasons.

Said it before...
Saying it again...
Some people really are too stupid to be allowed to live...
I agree on the chicken pox thing. Never had anyone with the POX to expose my kids, so finally decided that the vaccine was a better option than no protection at all - this after discussing it at length with our family Dr. I'm getting the H1N1 vaccine if I can (stupid flu shot shortages... stupid crappy lungs...) Still deciding if we'll get it for the kids. Looks like it is going to come down to whether they have caught it already or not when the vaccine becomes available for us. Caveman and I decided that with what he does and the potential for all the really nasty germs he could bring home that our kids were going to get all the basic recommended vaccinations. And as much as they all hate shots (Oh Gawd - the snot, the tears, the snot, the screaming, did I mention the snot?) Even with all that when I explained to them we had them get those shots so they wouldn't get sick, have to go to the hospital, maybe worse, they agreed it was better to get a shot.
Sad when my 6 year old is more capable of making an intelligent and informed decision than a parent....
(Not saying everyone has to get vaccines... don't read into what I wrote, damn it! ;) )

I have to get both shots and probably the kids too. With where I work it's a must.
woo hoo!!! this can be followed by a nice ANTHRAX PARTY!!!!:yikes::tantrum2::bandevil:
Good news...they are concerned about their kids...bad news, the have the intelligence of a turnip. Although is that an insult to turnips?
I agree with you hotmama about this being child neglect.
Zia, I too had to endure many intentional exposures of chicken pox without ever catching them. It wasn't until about 4 years ago the Air Force tested me and said I had a natural immunity. So I guess I just ended up being the play mate for sick kids.
